ZK Wins IBM XPages Development Contest for Reusable Controls, Embed Excel Functionality into IBM Lotus Domino XPages Applications

London (PRWEB) September 07, 2011

ZK is pleased to announce that one of its developers Dennis Chen has been awarded as one of the three winners of the first ever XPages Development Contest for his effort in seamlessly integrating ZK Spreadsheet into IBM Lotus Domino XPages. This contest was sponsored by IBM Business Partner We4IT and hosted at OpenNTF.org.

Participants were required to contribute re-usable XPages controls along with a well documented reference understandable and consumable by other developers, in particular, specifying design elements in which developers are to copy in order to utilize the controls in other applications. Reusable controls are often custom controls with parameters to configure them enabling them to be used in different contexts.

The contest attracted a total of 49 contestants contributing 54 custom controls and 10 library controls. Nominations were judged by several criteria including reusability, consumability, wow factor, completeness of solution and documentation, overall business value and originality.

Despite the competitiveness, ZK Spreadsheet and XPages integration was proudly selected proving its value once again to the Java Community. In this ZK XPages project, ZK Spreadsheet and ZK Pivottable were integrated into XPages, providing extension libraries that can bridge XPages to ZK whilst essentially and effectively integrating the core of ZK into XPages environment, providing developers an architecture with great extensibility easily integratable with any ZK components. This in turn is the greatest value coming out of this project; by integrating ZK Spreadsheet into XPages, users are now provided with more convenience, versatility, efficiency and more over, enhanced applications. says Dennis Chen in an interview.

ZK Spreadsheet is an open source, embeddable web-based spreadsheet that delivers rich functionality of Excel within browsers using pure Java without the need to install Excel or applets on the server or client. With the ability to include Excel functionality in any web page, developers are able to create interactive, collaborative and dynamic enterprise applications at minimal cost. ZK Spreadsheet has become a mainstay in developers toolkits since its first release in February 2008 obtaining favourable reviews across the globe and deployed by various corporate financial institutions.

XPages is a rapid web and mobile application development platform based on JavaScript, JSF and a document orientated database. It allows IBM Lotus Notes data to be displayed to browser clients on all platforms and its applications are hosted by IBM Lotus Domino.

E-LIFE Home Automation Hit the Premier League

(PRWEB UK) 22 October 2011

E-LIFE Home Automation again rises to the challenge of delivering the finest home automation and control systems. Three of our latest installations have been at the very top end of the market for the most challenging and demanding of clients.

A common mistake is thinking that home automation is only the reserve of the rich and famous. The fact is the majority, of E-LIFE's work are with non-celebrities, those homeowners or developers who have the resource and foresight to consider technology as a feature.

As you can imagine budgets were generous but the brief demanding. Full ipad and iphone control was a must as well as static options in strategic locations around the home. One area for consideration was what control options were required when the iphone or ipad is not available. In this instance a series of coloured touchscreens were installed to offer control of the lights, music and heating for each room throughout the house.

One of the current requirements of any distributed audio system is the ability to play downloaded music from a PC's itunes or spotify accounts or from ipods and iphones. Not only that but two way control from touchscreens or from app based software means that you have the ability to skip tracks, play your playlists and search for certain artists and albums.

With wealth comes all the trappings and gate entry systems that allowed the caller to be viewed on TV screens prior to allowing access was also installed. Not only that but certain functions allowed the caller to ring through on a dedicated landline to speak to the homeowner. A doorbell alert was also triggered on the dedicated home cinema screen so no caller went neglected.

This step into the footballing world has been a real adventure for the E-LIFE team and another feather in the E-LIFE cap. We continually strive to source some of the finest products and solutions to deliver workable, practical and reliable full automation systems.

Applied Physiology Raises $5 Million for Navigator Market Launch

Sydney, NSW, Australia (PRWEB) July 24, 2009

Medical device company Applied Physiology Pty Ltd (AP), a developer of circulation guidance systems for critically-ill patients, announced today a Series B $ 5 million investment from Series A lead investor GBS Venture Partners, Australia.

Managing critically-ill patients is complex and costly. Today, most patient monitoring and clinical information systems offer clinicians little guidance to rationalize and standardize treatment. Consequently, hospitals are increasingly seeking clinical decision support tools in an effort to address these problems and reduce cost.

"AP's Navigator takes data from standard cardiovascular monitors and assembles it into graphical treatment guidance for clinicians, making continuous goal directed therapy a reality" says Dr. Steve Gourlay, general partner of GBS. "We see great potential to improve patient outcomes while reducing the cost and complexity of acute care. We continue to back Applied Physiology both for its breakthrough technology and the strong management team."

The novel Navigator technology determines the volume, resistance and heart components of standard cardiovascular signals, such as blood pressure, and then arranges them in a form that guides medical staff towards therapeutic options to achieve circulatory goals. Clinical evidence shows that consistent achievement of circulatory goals reduces hospital stays and complications after, for example, major surgery.

In 2008 the company completed a multicentre randomized clinical trial of Navigator in patients recovering from open heart surgery. The study demonstrated effectiveness and safety, and provided clinical data for regulatory submissions. The results indicate that it is possible to provide useful therapeutic guidance to simplify the care of critically-ill patients.

From a clinician's perspective, the task of continually reviewing and adjusting circulatory therapy in patients in a busy unit may be considerably lightened with the Navigator system. The system's ability to graphically summarize the patient's status relative to goals may also enhance teamwork and autonomy of the bedside carer.

The new funding will assist in finalization of regulatory approvals and preparations for Navigator's 2010 European market launch.

Disclaimer: The Navigator medical device is not approved for use, is not available for commercial distribution and may only be used for clinical investigations provided relevant clinical investigational requirements are fulfilled.

Founded in 2004, Applied Physiology develops and commercializes treatment guidance systems intended to transform the care of critically-ill patients. Christian Minister's New Book Says God Wants You to Be Selfish and Wealthy

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) February 15, 2006

Duke Clarke is a Christian minister with very different views. Raised in the Bible Belt of North Carolina, Clarke just accepted everything he was told about God, the Bible and religion. Then in 1970 he thought he had found a new message among the Jesus movement and the radical religious groups of that time but careful study of the bible revealed something totally different. In fact, unlike the Da Vinci Code, Duke discovered that God reveals truths in the Bible in a very specific way.

In his new book The Way of Prosperity: The 7 Stages of the Prosperous Mind (http://www.thewayofprosperity.com), Clarke presents the concept that God has set up Laws, both biblical and universal, to help all people prosper spiritually and financially. Through the story he exposes a process that anyone can follow to be financially successful while having a rich spiritual connection with God.

Yes, I tell people that God wants them to be selfish and while that shocks many people, it comes directly from the bible, Clarke confirms. In both the Old Testament and the New Testament God says Take heed unto thyself. Most people consider this selfish, but how can I enjoy this life or have anything to offer someone else if I dont take heed to myself first? I also teach that He wants us to be happy and prosperous IN THIS LIFEand not just after we get to heaven. Clarke continues, It seems like a cruel joke to ask people to come to God in order to enjoy peace, victory and a wonderful life and then once they accept, you tell them thats all in heaven. But for now, your life will be filled with trails and sufferingwhat kind of message is that?

The 70s was a time of the Jesus People and religious groups that broke away from the main stream. It was a time when college students like Clarke were willing to stand up to the status quo and ask Is this all there is? There has to be more to life than just accepting what my parents believed! For the next 17 years Clarke worked as an ordained minister inside a Christian organization until there was a power struggle and split which resulted in the end of his relationship with the organization.

One day the group that had employed me for 17 years came to reclaim all their parsonage furniture. I sat on the living room floor that night alone, wondering what was ahead. I was 39 years old with a wife and 3 young children. I had about $ 1,000 dollars in the bank and a 10 year old car, Clarke remembers. My rent was $ 1300 a month at the time, so I figured we were about 3 weeks from being homeless. In case you havent looked lately there arent a lot of jobs for ex-ministers whose church doesnt want him.

I went to work immediately to provide for my family and God did some wonderful things for us in those days, Clarke recounts. There at the bottom I realized two things. First I was not going to give up on God; I knew that there was information in the Bible that would show me what to do if I could figure it out. The second thing I realized was that I had to get rid of a lot of wrong thinking and wrong teaching, clear my mind and start all over.

And start over he did. Clarke spent the next ten years carefully studying and dissecting the bible and its teachings. What he discovered was not only life altering but caused his faith to be redoubled. Clarke then spent the next 10 years applying and proving the principles hed discovered.

Now, almost 20 years later Clarkes income is almost 10 times what it was when he was left sitting on the living room floor and continues to grow each year. He and his wife have one son who has graduated from college and is doing extremely well in the corporate world and another son who just started college. When my oldest son started college, Clarke remembers we were just getting on our feet and that meant loans and a lot of work. But now when my youngest sons tuition was due it was only a matter of writing a check.

None of this happened over night, Clarke states. I had years of financially repressive teaching and incorrect beliefs that I had to change. You can take no external action until youve first taken it in your mind and my mind was a mess. Think about all the automatic actions you take, breathing, walking, and blinking. Your life is automatic based on your education and beliefs, and I needed new beliefs in order to prosper Clarke continues.

Most churches have furthered unhealthy beliefs about wealth and Christianity which has resulted in great confusion and guilt. Clarke has discovered that while there are many wealthy Christians, most of them are made to feel guilty about their position by the churches they attend and support. It is time that all Christians finally understand what God really intended for them financially here on earth. You should happily reap the benefit of your rewards now as well as in heaven, declares Clarke.

It took me almost ten years to dig my way out of unhealthy beliefs and start on a new road. Today I teach people how to do that in months not years. What I live by and what I teach today is the practical application of Gods Laws both biblical and universal for personal and professional success. I dont teach religion, dogmas, warm and fuzzy feelings or theory. Your personal relationship with God is your business. I teach Gods Laws that work, Laws that I have applied in my own life that get results now. The most important thing I discovered is that you dont even have to be a Christian or even have a belief in God for the laws to work. They work because God loves everyone unconditionally and applies his laws to everyone equally.

Clarkes book is for anyone who desires to live abundantly but fears that it will corrupt their spiritual life. It reveals the truth about wealth and abundance for those who simply want to reach their full potential in the most ethical and moral way.

The griping documentary was one of three films up for the top overall documentary award (voted on by a panel of judges), which went to Programas, a riveting documentary about selected Brazilian prostitutes.

The movie was received very well, Elliott said about the showcase in Atlanta. He added the audience choice award was validation that he has an unpolished golden nugget in his filmmaking repertoire.
